Hi people
I'm dissapointed to the waste of paper and time that these people of POSTBOX publicity does. Everyday I have to take out almost 2 Kg of paper out of my mail box. besides spending 5 minutes of my time bringing those papers to the recycling bin, I'm furious for the fact that in one of those I'll lose one important letter
I already put a notice: "NO PUBLICITY OR ADDS TANKS" in DANISH but this doesn't change the situation.
Do you know how can I get those RED STICKERS of NO PUBLICITY THANKS?
How can I make a claim to the company responsible of those adds, or to AALBORG KOMMUNE?
REgards,
Beto

You have to subscribe to get those stickers. As far as I know you have to ask for a form at the post office. After sending this to them, or handing it over there, you'll receive your sticker(s) depending on what you choose by mail
You can get either Reklamer nej tak(no commercials) or Reklamer og gratis aviser nej tak(no commercials or free newspapers). I think they can help with the details at the post office

You cannot make a claim to the companies that puts out the adds or to Aalborg Kommune and complain. The whole "big glossy advertisements in your mail box" is a uniquely established Danish system that has been running for at least 30 years and the only way not to participate in that wast of paper and whatnot is to go to the postal service and ask for the "Nej Tak". It is perfectly legal for any advertising agency to contact you via the your mail box as long as they are registered with authorities which all the companies from whom you get advertisement is.
As Laksen writes, you have to go to the post office (the closest one is in SuperBrugsen down in Vejgaard) and ask for the "Reklamer, Nej Tak" form. You will within a short while after filling them out and turning them in receive a letter with the stickers of your choosing to be put on your mail box. It is important you bring prof of you living on the address you wish to register like your "CPR card" or other official documents where your name and the address is printed on.
You should keep in mind that there are advertisers that doesn't support the "Reklamer, Nej Tak" and will continue to put stuff in your mail box, but the majority does.
The reason for the delay from you turn in the form until you get the stickers is that the postal service has to register with their own system as well as the advertising distribution system that you do not wish to receive the advertising anymore. If your wish isn't registered e.g. if you put up your own sticker or notice from someone who doesn't handle distribution of the adds, then the postal service will continue putting all the junk in your mail box so you have to go through the official channels (the Danish postal service) for the junk mail to cease.
As an advice I will encourage you to choose "Reklamer og Gratis aviser, Nej tak" that way you only get your own private letters and no newspapers or any of the other junk. |
